Amber Portwood: Turning Down Plea Bargain to Continue Filming Teen Mom?

Troubled Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is considering NOT taking a plea deal because it would effectively end her reality TV career , according to reports. Amber is supposed to be released from jail into the care of a halfway house this week after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance. She may end up changing her plea, however, so she can continue shooting Teen Mom as much as possible, sources tell E! News . Why on Earth … Portwood, who faces up to five years in jail if she violates probation, is not going to change her plea because she wants to sit in a cell instead. It is true, though, that the drug court that’s allowing Portwood to rehabilitate at the halfway house has ordered the facility not to allow cameras. For Amber Portwood , this is a very big deal. Last week, she said she had been under the impression that she would be allowed to live with her grandparents and film Teen Mom while fulfilling the terms of her sentence (counseling, regular check-ins with the court, etc.). Being ordered to a halfway house caught her by surprise. In order to stay out of jail, she was ordered to spend eight months at the halfway house and get a full-time job … one that does not involve TV. The third season of Teen Mom is set to premiere April 3, so that would leave Amber SOL and without the paycheck she’s come to depend on. As such, Amber decided Saturday that she may rather “do her time now and get it out of the way,” and the halfway house is “not the right place for her.” It wouldn’t be the full five years, presumably, if she did agree to serve jail time. We are probably talking about a couple of months, tops. After which, she would be free to film, without stipulations. “The system doesn’t want Amber to succeed,” a friend said. “She needs to stay in the entertainment industry. There are no jobs in Anderson (Ind.). She needs to finish her schooling. She can’t do all of that with a $7-an-hour job.” Baby daddy Gary Shirley currently has custody of her daughter, Leah.

"Battleship" International Trailer: Watch Now!

Gearing up for its springtime release, Universal Pictures has released a new International trailer for the upcoming movie “Battleship.” The Peter Berg-directed action/sci-fi flick revolves around a fleet of ships which is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals. Written by brothers Erich and Jon Hoeber, the film stars Taylor Kitsch , Brooklyn Decker , Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna and Liam Neeson. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game,”Battleship” is set to sail into theaters on May 18. ?

According to Us Weekly , Britney Spears has reached out to Simon Cowell and The X Factor producers in order to campaign for spot on the season two judging table. If Britney’s name is really in the mix, it would be included with other famous ones such as Beyonce, Pink, Fergie, and perhaps the most likely candidate, Janet Jackson . Looking to find a place of their own, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Jason Statham were spotted apartment hunting in New York City earlier today (February 22). The “Transformers” star and her “Killer Elite” beau made their way around the SoHo neighborhood of the Big Apple as they checked out a few swanky high rises in hopes of finding place to call home. The day’s outing comes shortly after Ms Huntington-Whitely attended the Burberry Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion show during London Fashion Week. Of the runway happenings, Rosie told press, “I mean I love London Fashion Week. As if we need more reasons to watch NBC’s new hit show “Smash,” Nick Jonas is set to guest star as Lyle West on next week’s episode and here is a sneak peek. In the teaser clip, viewers see Jonas playing a sitcom star who got his start as a child actor on Broadway and isn’t afraid to purvey his interest in the show’s character, Ivy. His character does, in fact, catch Ivy’s attention as he plays the piano and belts out his rendition of Michael Buble’s “Haven’t Met You Yet.” Be sure to catch the all-new episode of “Smash” coming up on Monday, February 27 at 10pm. ?

Cyborg Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is campaigning in Michigan ahead of Tuesday’s primary, and boy, does he just love everything about that state! Mitt’s pandering speech last week was remarkable in how forced it sounded, even by his standards, as the Michigan native tried to convince residents he is one of them. It was a performance reminiscent of Steve Carell in Anchorman , when Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy asks, “Are you just naming things you see and saying you love them?” Watch a mashup of that scene and Romney’s press conference below: Mitt Romney Loves Michigan So Hard The trees are the right height.
