Doutzen Kroes: Miami Beach Bikini Beauty

Showing off her enviable looks for all to see, Doutzen Kroes flaunted her bikini body while on the sandy shoreline of Miami Beach, Florida on Wednesday (February 15). The Victoria’s Secret model donned a skimpy black two-piece swimsuit as she posed for photographers during her sunshine state photo shoot session. Meanwhile, Miss Kroes was among a trio of models voicing hopes to see change when it comes to standard practices for working runway beauties. Citing the fact that some models are paid by receiving the clothes they wear during catwalk displays, Doutzen said, “I think the Model Alliance can make a rule that every model has to have a minimum salary, you know?” Fellow model Shalom Harlow added, “There’s a misconception about how we get paid and, yeah, sometimes there’s windfall jobs, but very often we’re working for free or for clothes.” Photo Credit: INF Daily

12 Celebrity Reverse May/December Romances

Perhaps it’s my loyalty to Princess Buttercup (from “The Princess Bride”), but I shook my fists and cried “inconceivable!” every time there were rumors that Sean Penn was running around on Robin Wright, his wife of 13 years. When the two finally split in 2010, Penn took up with a string of models, finally dating

Anne V: Mastering Sushi and Signing SI’s Swimsuit Issue

Stepping out to sign copies of Sports Illustrated’s 2012 Swimsuit Issue, Anne V was spotted at a swanky restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday evening (February 15). The 25-year-old teamed up with fellow SI swimsuit models Jessica Perez and Genevieve Morton with the trio of lovely ladies penning their names on the latest SI Swimsuit Edition at Mastro’s Ocean Club. At one point, the three gorgeous models took a break from handing out signatures to master the art of making sushi with help from the chef of Mastro’s. On another note, Anne and her boyfriend Adam Levine are still together – contrary to breakup rumors that surfaced this past week. The “Maroon 5″ singer tweeted Monday (February 13), “Just saw the cover of Sports Illustrated. One major problem…@AnneV isn’t on the cover.” When asked about Adam’s tweet at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue party in NYC Tuesday, Anne told OK!, “Aww, he’s sweet. I mean, every single man wants it that way; every single girl wants the cover.” This year, Anne got to shoot in Seychelles, which she told OK! was amazing. “You know what? The best part is you start really early and you’re done by like 9. Then you start again at like 3, and you’re done by like 6, so you’re, like, literally hanging on the beach all day long and then go and eat. Honestly, I sound so cliché, but Sports Illustrated makes your dreams come true. It’s like a free holiday.” When asked if she will continue doing the swimsuit issue Anne told OK!, “I’m waiting for the 10-year anniversary; maybe they’ll bring me a cake or something. I have a couple more years to go.”Photo Credit: Getty Images

Crystal Renn Talks Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Slimdown

She used to be a plus-size model, and now Crystal Renn has scored a coveted spot in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. And in a recent interview, Ms. Renn explained that she’s had experience in pretty much every arena of the industry. Crystal shared, “I have been a double-zero to a 16 even, for a bit. Now to settle at a [size] six or an eight, it’s a really interesting place to be, because there are very few sixes or eights.” “There’s a woman at SI who’s made it a point to make sure that the models are healthy. They’re not interested in who’s the thinnest model of them all, they’re about the girl. We all have different bodies. There’s not one type that’s idealized.” Renn also noted that she’s got a great outlook on body image. “I felt comfortable with my body. I’ve been doing yoga for a while now. That makes you aware of how your body moves. I have found a place of stability when it comes to how to view my figure.” ?

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Creator on Kate Upton: Not Impressed!

Plenty of people are impressed by Kate Upton’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover . The shot-callers at Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show are not among them. It’s unclear when and how the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show became a paragon of class, but evidently, it considers itself as much … and is not enamored with Kate. “We would never, ever use [ Kate Upton ],” Sophia Neophitou, a stylist, fashion editor and the brains behind the Victoria’s Secret event told the New York Times . “She’s like a Page 3 girl,” she said, referring to the scantily clad voluptuous women featured in The Sun , a London tabloid. “She’s like a footballer’s wife.” “The too-blond hair, that kind of face anyone with money can go out and buy.” Yikes! Apparently SI disagrees, choosing her as 2012′s swimsuit edition cover girl. To her credit, Upton makes no pretense of being fashionable or elegant. “What can I say?” she told the Times . “I’m relatable.” One big reason to relate to the 19-year-old is her figure. Unlike the majority of rail thin runway models you see, Upton’s measurements are a healthy 36-25-34. Is any guy not loving the SI cover featuring Kate? If she’s not gaunt or “exotic” enough for VS, that’s their loss. We’ll take this all-American girl the way she is any day.

All About Kate Upton’s Sexy ‘Sports Illustrated’ Cover Look

Walter Iooss Jr./Sports Illustrated Much has been said about that itty-bitty bikini, but Kate Upton’s sexy Sports Illustrated cover look goes beyond the bathing suit. The 19-year-old stunner was glammed up by the magazine’s team of makeup artists and hairstylists — though they admit she didn’t need much help looking gorgeous. “The great thing about Kate is that there’s kind of a look that she has — she has that blonde hair, a beauty mark in the right place,” makeup artist Tracy Murphy explains to PEOPLE. “She’s like, the girl that’s born to be a bombshell. It’s already there.” Murphy used some bronzer, waterproof mascara and nude lip balm on her model, touched up her eyebrows and sent her on her way. “She has really beautiful coloring, those naturally rosy cheeks you have when you’re 19,” Murphy says. “It was really effortless beauty with her.” Her hair was a different story. Though stylist Peter Butler prepped as best he could, Mother Nature got in the way. “Take about 50 to 60 mile-per-hour winds,” he jokes of attaining her beachy waves, which he created using a 2-in. curling iron and Leonor Greyl mousse. “Usually beach hair is pretty natural and raw, so it’s more about trying to control it as much as possible, while still keeping it natural.” Walter Iooss Jr./Sports Illustrated Because of the winds in Sydney, Australia, where Upton was shot, Butler had to give his client some tips. “I pretty much told her how to hold her hair in the wind,” he recalls. “We had to find the angle for the wind to blow it the right way. It was a lot of luck.” The cover image itself was a lucky get, too; senior editor MJ Day says there “was a lot of excitement when we were shooting this. We had really tough weather when we were shooting, and it was one of those days when it was clear and perfect and beautiful.” Day combed through about 10,000 swimsuits, finding the perfect Suit Yourself Bikini by Kathleen Bruening ($180) for Upton’s shoot. “It was such a tiny top and such a tiny bottom, but still sophisticated, flattering and sexy,” she says. “We just loved it on her.” Read Upton’s reaction to her cover unveiling here . Whitney Port Out to Prove Something with First Solo Runway Show

Gregg DeGuire/PictureGroup When it was announced in January that Whitney Port would be showing at New York Fashion Week , the designer herself had only just learned of the news. “I started organizing this maybe a month and a half ago,” she tells PEOPLE. “The collection that I was doing was already being done, because obviously I’d do it anyway, but we decided pretty last minute we wanted to be part of Fashion Week.” Now, the budding designer is in the final stages of preparation (her Whitney Eve show is Wednesday morning; it will livestream on Very.com’s YouTube channel ), fitting models, selecting music, approving hair, makeup and nail decisions and figuring out what to wear. “I’m waiting to see what the looks are like for the show,” she reveals. “I don’t want to take anything from the show, so I’ll pick up the pieces and put something together.” The fall 2012 Whitney Eve collection is derived in part from a kaleidoscope Port found in her grandmother’s home. “I was looking at it, and was inspired by the prints and colors,” she says. “But it’s also based on what kind of girl I feel like I’ve grown to be the past couple years.” Port launched her line in 2008, in the midst of her run on MTV’s The Hills — and ever since, has felt she has something to prove. “I want to show people I’m really in this to create a great fashion line,” she says. “There’s this thought that people on TV just put their names on lines and it’s not something they’re passionate about. For me, I’ve always wanted to do this, since day one. Being on TV was just this added thing that I kind of fell into.” While Whitney Eve is still “a small, boutiquey line,” Port says she’s hoping her turn at Fashion Week will inspire buyers, editors and shoppers alike. “I’d love to see more girls wearing it on the street,” she reveals. And regardless of how her show goes — “I’m pretty nervous,” she admits — she’ll have some very big fans waiting for her backstage. “My parents are here, my sister and my brother are here, another sister’s coming,” she shares. “They’re here to support.” –Kate Hogan CHECK OUT ALL THE LATEST FASHION WEEK NEWS AND PHOTOS

Marc Jacobs Borrows from Fairytales for Fall 2012 Show

Joe Schildhorn/BFAnyc/Sipa Do you believe in fashion magic? Artist Rachel Feinstein and designer wunderkind Marc Jacobs made it happen Monday night, joining forces to create a fairytale setting for Jacobs’s well-received fall/winter 2012 runway show. “It’s beautiful,” actor Michael Pitt told PEOPLE of the set, which featured a backdrop of tall buildings in light blue, reminiscent of a super-sized sketch made out of paper. “Marc’s amazing.” Feinstein’s inspiration was clear: “I’ve always liked Sleeping Beauty and Hansel and Gretel a lot,” she explained. “But it’s more like [psychologist and author Bruno] Bettelheim’s version of fairytales.” The collection also had a fairytale theme; 54 models walked the runway wearing whimsical jackets and dresses, buckle shoes, wrap-around scarves and scene-stealing hats of fox, beaver and mink made by milliner Stephen Jones. Set to the tune of “Who Will Buy?” from the musical Oliver! , the show had an appropriately Dickensian quality, as well. Graylock/Abaca (2) “It was a celebration, an extravaganza,” W editor Stefano Tonchi raved after the show. “It is about not growing up, [but] that we should continue to express ourselves like children all our lives. It was a beautiful fairytale where he included the style of Anna Piaggi and Schiaparelli, and Mary Poppins — all the great crazy fashion icons … that have eyewear that is too big and hats that are too big. It’s all about really pushing it.” “It’s a dream,” designer Rachael Zoe shared. “Marc Jacobs makes fantasies. That’s what Marc really is … he’s a dream.” “Amazing, so amazing,” added Jacobs muse Dakota Fanning , who had been seated in the front row wearing a magically sparkly dress herself. “I didn’t want it to end.” –Jeffrey Slonim CATCH UP ON THE LATEST FASHION WEEK NEWS AND PHOTOS
